A Land of Fire and Rock
Beneath the surface, nature has crafted a unique geological mosaic. The soil of Montefalcione combines the tenacity of clay and the solidity of stone with the memory of the volcano: thin deposits of ancient volcanic ash (cinerite).
This pyroclastic matrix not only ensures optimal drainage but also imparts a deep minerality and a savory structure—the true signature of this Apennine area. Here, Fiano becomes long-lived, and Taurasi sheds its impetuousness to become velvety and austere.
