Montefalcione

A Balcony over Irpinia
Perched on a strategic ridge between 500 and 600 meters above sea level, Montefalcione is one of the highest and most panoramic points in the Fiano and Taurasi denominations. This elevation is more than a geographical fact; it is the defining factor of our grape quality. At these heights, ripening occurs slowly and gradually, allowing for the development of aromatic precursors of extraordinary finesse.

The Territory
The town center is surrounded by fertile, well-tended countryside where fruit trees, cereals, vines, and olives thrive. This is complemented by abundant semi-wild vegetation—oaks, broom, and juniper—and above all, chestnut forests, whose wood is traditionally used for local artisanal craftsmanship.

The Breath of Monte Tuoro

The secret of our viticulture lies in climatic balance. Warm, generous sunlight during the day is constantly tempered by air currents flowing from Monte Tuoro.

Irpino Microclimate

This proximity to the Apennine peaks creates a unique microclimate characterized by:

Radical Temperature Swings: At night, temperatures drop significantly even in the height of summer, gifting our Fiano di Avellino with vibrant freshness and our Taurasi with complex aromas.

Constant Ventilation: The breeze blowing through the rows naturally reduces humidity, protecting vine health and allowing us to minimize vineyard interventions.

Harsh winters: Cold winters, often accompanied by snowfall, ensure the vine’s dormancy and a natural water reserve in the soil, contributing to the balance of the growing cycle.
